Media Art, Klasse Kiessling

introductive information

The development of new electronic media has steadily broadened the scope of artistic representation and expression. Art created using newer analog and digital media, or art that explores these media as a subject, plays a significant role in contemporary visual art. Furthermore, an increasing number of artists have made it second nature to use various new and traditional media simultaneously, combining them where appropriate. My courses focus intensively on the influence of new analog and digital media on visual art production. In the Media Art class, students develop their own artistic positions and continually discuss them in group settings.

Guest lectures, exhibitions, interdisciplinary projects, and study trips are also organized as part of the Media Art class’s curriculum.
