Richard Sides, Artist Lecture

Richard Sides‘ works explore contemporary ideas of meaning as an existential problem. These often manifest as environments that treats the exhibition as sites with their own obstructions and particularities to respond to. Materially, videos, sculpture, collages, paintings, music, writing – sometimes separately and often all together – are usually present in the form of installations and performances where delivery and presence are key. They are also curating shows in different spaces as well as co-running The Wig in Berlin – an artist-run exhibition space and BUS – an imprint for publishing predominantly free editions of music, writing and physical objects.

Recent projects include Documentary, Rinde am Rhein, Dusseldorf; Deep Listening, KIN, Brussels; Elections, Shore Gallery, Vienna (all 2024); Slow Dance, Stadtgalerie Bern, 2023; Basic Vision, KOW, Berlin and The Wig, Bonner Kunstverein (both 2022).
