Dialogs Lecture Series, Dani Gal
Dani Gal (born 1975 in Israel) lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Gal is a conceptual, video and installation artist with a long standing focus on sound. His Historical Records archive, has been a cumulative resource for multiple performance, installation, and radio works since 2005, and is currently on display at the Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt. Gal studied at Avni Institute in Tel Aviv, and the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. Gal graduated from the Städelschule, Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste, in 2005. He is a recipient of the Villa-Romana- Preis 2008, Ars Viva 09/10, and the 2012 Grosser Hans-Purrmann-Preis der Stadt Speyer. Gal is known for his films, »Nacht und Nebel« (2011), and »Wie aus der Ferne« (2013). He most recently produced and conducted a three-week broadcast radio series for DOKUMENTA 14.
